Quality Control Field Technician

Landmark Survey and Testing Limited is a professional engineering firm focused on providing quality control and assurance support to heavy civil construction projects in Northwestern Ontario. Our staff are trained to assist our clients from project planning, through construction, and project closing.

We are currently looking to expand our field team with the addition of a Quality Control Field Technician who is interested in working in the construction and mining industries in the Fort Frances area. Majority of the work required by this role will be outside at construction and mining sites performing quality control inspections, sampling, testing and surveying.

 

Job Responsibilities:
  • Follow all appropriate safety policies and procedures

  • Read and understand project specifications and engineered drawings

  • Perform surveys using basic survey equipment up to total station and GPS RTK as required for the tasks

  • Create and edit drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D

  • Participate in field inspections of construction work to ensure compliance with project specifications

  • Collect and assess aggregate samples using the appropriate standards

  • Conduct field density and moisture testing utilizing Nuclear Density Gauges

  • Maintain collected data and paperwork in an organized fashion

  • Ensure equipment, tools and materials are kept in good working condition

  • Behave in a professional and appropriate manner

 

Qualifications/Skills:
  • Diploma in civil technology or related field

  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada

  • Must have a valid driver’s licence

  • Attention to detail

  • At least 2 years of construction or mining experience

  • CCIL Certified Aggregate Tester

  • ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician

  • Experience with survey equipment

  • Nuclear Density Gauge Certification

  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods

  • Working at Heights

  • Confined Space Awareness and Entry

  • Ground Disturbance

  • First Aid

  • Common Core
